I've tried to purge/reset my Preferences/settings by clicking "Reset user preferences" in the Preferences menu - and later, tired again by deleting the %appdata% folder than contains all of the preferences I think to find. I've downgraded DaVinci Resolve Studio to 17.3.2, 17.4 and back to 17.4.1 - nothing has helped. I've downgraded my Nvidia graphics drivers to 471.68, 471.41 and back to 496.49 again - nothing has helped. Unsure if this is in any way useful information, but included nonetheless. I exported it to HD 60fps, via Native encoding. The last thing I remember doing successfully before this issue was exporting a HD timeline filled with BRAW and mp4 footage - paired with various graphics. So, it seems that this is only specifically when I'm playing things via the timeline? There seem to be no hardware faults? And when I do view them via Blackmagic RAW Player etc, I get the expected system usage numbers - increased CPU, RAM, Disk and GPU activity. Something must be bottlenecked or incorrectly configured somewhere, as my CPU, RAM, Disk and GPU usages are abysmally low when playing timelines - yet I'm able to view the same files within DaVinci individually, and even in the standalone Blackmagic RAW Player without any issue. If I double click a file from the media pool and play it live (red circle in link), it runs almost without flaw - but If I drag that same file onto the timeline and play the timeline (green circle in link), it struggles a lot - barely making 2 fps most of the time. And I cannot think as to why this is, or what I may have changed accidentally, or what may have changed without my knowledge. The same footage that I previously was editing smoothly, is now an aggressive slideshow. I've tried to articulate everything I've noticed around the problem in the hopes that someone might be able to help me work this out.Ī week ago I could edit 4k DCI 60fps BRAW (from BMPCC 4k) footage flawlessly, yet for the past 4 days whenever I load the same projects that I was working on previously - anything I play stutters uncontrollably.
